I approach writing articles for our journal with the thought of how we can help improve our community’s approach to cleaning. So for this Spring Clean season, I thought I’d make some suggestions to make what many find to be a daunting task a little easier – by suggesting some tools that we love.
I do tend to feel a sense of renewal whenever spring comes by. I come from a country of eternal sunshine (Dominican Republic) and it always surprises my how gloomy the North of Europe can be during winter, despite having lived in the UK for over 9 years now. It is rather glorious, when we start getting a bit of consistent sunshine.
Hopefully, this spring is inspiring you to clean. I’ve put together a list of five (5) pretty useful items everyone should have in their homes for a perfect spring clean.
1. The Mella 1809 Rue Du Dragon Spring bundle | £252.00
Obviously we have to shamelessly plug our own products. We’ve just recently launched our spring bundles (which include a fancy towel). I’m a fan of all things Japanese – a lot of the products they manufacture hinge on their zeal for craftsmanship. These cloths are perfect for the home – and useful to pair with our multisurface spray. And they’re pretty useful and absorbent for spills and general use around the house!
Labour & Wait is an East London institution we love to shop at – and it doesn’t hurt that we’re practically neighbours. Their aesthetics are pretty on point, and the products they stock tend to be of very high quality.
This bucket is incredibly helpful to carry your all your cleaning products around the home (hopefully Mella 1809 branded).
4. Ostrich feather duster |£39.95
Dust is one of our biggest enemies. Luckily for us we’ve discovered an amazing feather duster made by a UK based brush company. And it’s made of ostrich feathers! (Ostrich feathers!).
5. A good quality apron | £15.00
Aprons are underrated. Most people think them useful just for cooking (they are) – but using them for daily cleaning can reduce potential damage to your clothes (I mean – I am always personally getting stains whilst cleaning).
